Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure initiatives. This contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on technical specialist who can strengthen complex environments while resolving advanced infrastructure issues across servers, networks, virtualization, and storage. The role combines project delivery with high-level operational support, offering the chance to contribute to both ongoing stability and future infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure components, including routing, switching, server platforms, storage systems, and related technologies.
• Provide Tier 3 technical support by diagnosing complex issues, identifying root causes, and restoring service across network, virtualization, backup, and server environments.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects lasting several months by gathering technical requirements, shaping solution designs, coordinating implementation plans, and producing clear documentation.
• Configure and support Cisco-based networking equipment and enterprise firewall solutions to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across the organization.
• Administer VMware environments and manage Windows and Linux servers to support performance, availability, and operational continuity.
• Oversee enterprise storage and backup or disaster recovery platforms, helping protect critical systems and data through effective administration and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align infrastructure solutions with business and technical needs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for configurations, procedures, designs, and support activities to improve knowledge sharing and operational consistency.• Proven experience working in enterprise infrastructure engineering with broad hands-on responsibility across servers, networking, virtualization, and storage.
• Strong technical knowledge of Cisco routing and switching, including experience with Catalyst switches, routers, and firewall technologies.
• Practical expertise administering VMware along with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux-based server environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms as well as backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical incidents independently and serve as an escalation point for advanced infrastructure issues.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory in enterprise environments.
• Exposure to technologies such as Citrix and Microsoft Exchange is beneficial.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA are valued and may strengthen candidacy.
