Fiber Splicer

The Fiber Splicer is responsible for installing, splicing, testing, and repairing fiber optic cables used in telecommunications networks. This role includes preparing fiber cables, performing fusion and mechanical splicing, testing and troubleshooting network connections, and maintaining accurate records of work completed. The Fiber Splicer works in both indoor and outdoor environments, follows safety regulations, and collaborates with field technicians and project teams to ensure reliable network performance and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber network issues.
• Read and interpret network plans, schematics, and splice diagrams.
• Perform OTDR and power meter testing to verify signal integrity.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to company safety standards.
• Travel to job sites and work in varying weather and field conditions as needed.

Requirements:

• Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• High School Diploma or GED
• Splicing Experience preferred
