Job Summary
We are seeking an Entry-Level IT Professional to provide technical support, troubleshoot software and application issues, assist with user account administration, and support application testing and basic infrastructure maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of operating systems, SQL, application troubleshooting, and IT support. This role will work closely with DWSD staff and serve as a first point of contact for users experiencing technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to internal and external users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic software, application, and system-related issues.
- Assist users with application errors, access issues, and technical questions.
- Create, configure, modify, and maintain user accounts and permissions.
- Assist with password resets, access requests, and basic account administration.
- Perform basic SQL queries to investigate and troubleshoot application or data-related issues.
- Assist with application testing, including identifying, documenting, and reporting defects.
- Support software installation, configuration, and maintenance activities.
- Assist with basic operating system and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and support activities.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT teams.
- Follow established IT support, security, and access-management procedures.
- Work collaboratively with DWSD staff and other technical teams.
Required Qualifications
- Currently in the 3rd year of a university program or a recent graduate.
- Major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another related scientific/technical discipline.
- Basic understanding of IT systems, operating systems, and software applications.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and databases.
- Familiarity with application troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ability to understand technical issues and communicate solutions clearly.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a technical team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Windows or other operating systems.
- Exposure to SQL Server or relational databases.
- Familiarity with application testing and defect reporting.
- Basic knowledge of user account and access management.
- Exposure to help desk, technical support, or IT internship experience.
- Familiarity with ticketing or issue-tracking systems such as Jira or ServiceNow.
