The Accountant CPA will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the company's financial health through accurate reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation. This position demands a detail-oriented professional skilled in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, with solid knowledge of GAAP standards. The role focuses on internal financial processes without involvement in external audits or travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, reviews, and interprets data for inclusion in financial reports, statements, and summaries.
- Reviews financial data for accuracy; identifies problems and supports day-to-day operations.
- Analyzes and maintains all accounts receivable accounts, refund accounts, and deposit accounts.
- Manage month-end closing; prepare journal entries
- Monthly financial statements, including consolidation of multiple entities
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce accurate and timely monthly financial statements
- Reconcile and explain variances to monthly revenue projections by each branch
- Prepare monthly commission reports
- Fixed Assets and capital expenditure tracking
- Weekly cash flow reporting; reviewing daily bank reconciliations
- Oversee the annual insurance audits
- Prepare minority business applications
- Special projects to include business acquisitions
- Daily cash management and reconciliation
- Strong in AR collections
- Monitor AR and file liens as appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with three+ year’s experience in medium businesses or accounting firms, with a strong background in AR/AP, financial and management reporting, and consolidations of multiple entities.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient in financial reporting and account reconciliation
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Strong attention to detail
