Guiding Angels at Home Care is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Independent Living Skills Training (ILST) and Community Integration Support Services (CISS) to an adult member in the Cumberland County area.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others become more independent, build confidence, develop life skills, and participate in their community.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Teaching and reinforcing independent living skills
• Community outings and activities
• Helping develop social and community connections
• Shopping and errands
• Meal preparation and household skills
• Transportation and community access
• Helping establish and maintain daily routines
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Arts, crafts, recreational and social activities
• Providing positive encouragement and one-on-one support
  

Ideal Candidate:

• Patient, positive and encouraging
• Dependable and professional
• Enjoys community activities
• Comfortable teaching independent living skills
• Comfortable working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Comfortable around dogs, as there are two dogs in the home
