Job Description
We are looking for a Database Administrator to join a contract opportunity with the potential to become permanent, based in Wayne, Pennsylvania. This position supports a mixed enterprise data environment that includes Oracle/Lawson, Snowflake, AWS-based data services, and Drupal/Acquia platforms. The role is ideal for someone who can balance core database administration with data integration, reporting support, and cloud platform optimization. You will play a key part in keeping business-critical data dependable, secure, and well-structured for operational and analytical use.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the day-to-day administration of Oracle/Lawson databases, including performance monitoring, backup coordination, recovery planning, and platform maintenance.
• Partner with technical teams to support database needs for application updates, system enhancements, and production issue resolution.
• Administer and improve Snowflake environments by refining data models, tuning workloads, and supporting scalable reporting structures.
• Build and maintain AWS-based data pipelines using services such as S3, Lambda, and Glue to move and transform enterprise data efficiently.
• Create and support integration processes across multiple business systems, with a focus on data validation, transformation, reconciliation, and consistency.
• Prepare and organize Drupal/Acquia data for reporting, analytics, and downstream consumption by dashboards or business intelligence tools.
• Validate migrated and integrated data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with business rules.
• Develop complex SQL solutions to support data extraction, transformation, and reporting requirements across legacy and cloud platforms.
• Document data movement, integration logic, and governance practices to improve transparency, quality, and long-term supportability.• At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering Oracle databases in a production environment.
• At least 3 years of experience in database administration, data platform support, or data engineering work.
• Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write and optimize advanced queries and data transformations.
• Experience working with Snowflake or another enterprise cloud data warehouse platform.
• Practical experience with AWS data technologies such as S3, Glue, Lambda, or Redshift.
• Background in designing or supporting ETL processes, system integrations, and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
