CNC Fabrication Equipment Operator
Bring your production-floor experience to JGM’s Coatesville steel fabrication shop. If you’ve run press brakes, CNC cutting systems, industrial saws, or similar equipment in manufacturing, automotive, packaging, plastics, or sheet metal, you’ll feel right at home. You’ll help turn raw steel into precision components in a high-volume, non-climate-controlled environment.
A day in the shop
- Open your station, complete pre-checks, and set up CNC equipment (press brakes, saws, punches, shears, plasma/laser cutters) to meet spec.
- Run parts to drawing and tolerance, inspecting frequently and dialing in offsets or parameters to keep quality on target.
- Stage and move steel safely using forklifts, overhead cranes, or carts; coordinate with fitters and welders to keep material flowing.
- Log production counts, quality checks, downtime, and scrap in real time so the line hits schedule and takt time.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine upkeep on your machines; flag anything that could cause unplanned downtime.
- Follow JGM and OSHA safety standards, wear required PPE, and operate confidently in a hot-summer/cold-winter shop.
- Communicate with leads and supervisors early if a job risks slipping schedule.
