Financial Reporting Manager – Oil & Gas
A publicly traded Oil & Gas company in Downtown Houston is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to join its external reporting team. This highly visible role will oversee key SEC reporting activities, financial statement preparation, technical accounting, and reporting initiatives while partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation and review of 10-Q, 10-K, financial statements, footnotes, and MD& A
- Support earnings releases and other external reporting requirements
- Manage Workiva/Wdesk reporting processes and XBRL tagging
- Research technical accounting and SEC disclosure requirements
- Coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors
- Support SOX controls and reporting compliance
- Analyze complex financial and consolidation data
- Improve reporting processes, controls, and efficiencies
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, and financial statement preparation experience
- Strong Excel, analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines
- CPA or Parts passed
- Public accounting and/or public company experience
- Oil & Gas or energy industry experience
- Workiva/Wdesk, XBRL, HFM, or Lawson
- FERC reporting experience
