Vision Life is seeking
dependable, compassionate, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide in-home support to adults with developmental and physical disabilities in
Monrovia, CA.
Convenient Location: Monrovia is approximately
8 miles from Pasadena and
20 miles from Downtown Los Angeles, making this a great opportunity for applicants throughout the San Gabriel Valley and Greater Los Angeles area.
We are currently looking for
part-time staff with availability Monday through Sunday. Candidates with flexible schedules, including
weekdays, weekends, evenings, and/or overnight availability, are strongly encouraged to apply.
As a DSP/SLS Instructor, you will work directly with individuals in their homes and communities, assisting them with daily living activities while promoting
independence, dignity, safety, and personal choice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care as needed
- Support meal preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Assist with community outings, appointments, shopping, and other activities
- Implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and follow established support strategies
- Provide appropriate support and redirection for individuals who may have behavioral challenges
- Assist with medication routines according to established guidelines
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service records accurately and on time
- Encourage independence, life-skills development, and community participation
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other members of the care team
- Maintain dependable and consistent attendance for scheduled shifts
Qualifications
- Experience as a DSP, SLS Instructor, caregiver, HCA, CNA, behavioral support staff, or similar direct-care role preferred
- Experience supporting adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities is a plus
- Must be compassionate, patient, professional, and dependable
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow client-specific care and behavioral support plans
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Current automobile insurance and vehicle registration preferred
- Must be able to meet background clearance and health screening requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification required or must be obtained as part of the onboarding process
