Hospital Inpatient Staff Pharmacist in Baton Rouge, LA

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Pharmacist to work primarily on the second shift within an inpatient hospital setting. The hospital maintains a census of approximately 60 to 70 active beds within a 131-bed capacity, providing a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering a 13-week initial term with potential for extension or transition to direct hire. There are 3 to 4 openings available.

Key Schedule Details:

• Shift: Monday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM
• Rotating weekends required

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform medication order entry and verification, primarily using the Epic electronic health record system.
• Manage medication dispensing through Pyxis automated systems.
• Ensure safe and effective inpatient medication use aligned with hospital policies and standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care and medication management.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana pharmacy license.
• Experience working in an inpatient hospital pharmacy.
• Familiarity with Epic system is preferred; training will be provided.
• Experience with Pyxis automation is a plus; training available.
