Insurance Defense Paralegal

Salary: 60,000 to 75,000 annually
A wellestablished civil defense firm in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to support attorneys handling highvolume litigation matters. This role is ideal for a detailoriented professional with experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or workers compensation who is comfortable preparing cases for litigation and managing complex files in a fastpaced environment.
Responsibilities
• Assist attorneys with all phases of insurance defense litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation
• Draft and prepare motions, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
• Organize, review, and summarize medical records, claim files, and other case documentation
• Prepare discovery materials, deposition summaries, witness files, and case chronologies
• Coordinate depositions, expert communications, IMEs, and scheduling
• Manage document production, including indexing, tracking, and maintaining case materials
• Prepare trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and case notebooks
• Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and docketing information
• Communicate with clients, experts, carriers, and opposing counsel
• Support attorneys with administrative litigation tasks as needed
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of insurance defense litigation paralegal experience
• Background in medical malpractice or workers compensation preferred
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures and court rules
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case or document management systems
• Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and support several attorneys at once
• High attention to detail and strong clientservice mindset
