Assistant Production Supervisor
Weekend Shift
Position Summary
The Assistant Production Supervisor supports the Production Supervisor with the daily operations of the manufacturing department. This position helps lead production employees, monitor production lines, maintain quality and safety standards, and ensure production goals are met.
The ideal candidate is a dependable team leader who can communicate effectively, assist employees, solve problems, and help keep production running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Production Supervisor with daily production operations.
  • Help assign employees to production lines and work areas.
  • Monitor employees and production lines to ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently.
  • Support the Production Supervisor in meeting daily production goals and schedules.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to production employees.
  • Help train new employees on job duties, safety procedures, GMPs, and company expectations.
  • Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance.
  • Ensure employees follow GMP, safety, sanitation, quality, and PPE requirements.
  • Monitor production lines for quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Identify production issues and report them to the Production Supervisor.
  • Assist with resolving production problems and preventing unnecessary downtime.
  • Work with Quality Control to address product or quality concerns.
  • Help ensure materials, components, and supplies are available for production.
  • Review production paperwork and documentation for accuracy.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe production area.
  • Communicate staffing, production, quality, and safety concerns to the Production Supervisor.
  • Help enforce company policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
  • Step in and provide leadership when the Production Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, production, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Lead, Team Lead, Assistant Supervisor, or similar role is a plus.
  • Experience in toiletry, personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food, or similar manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP/CGMP, safety, sanitation, and quality procedures preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well with employees at all levels.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
This position works primarily on the production floor of a toiletry manufacturing facility. The Assistant Production Supervisor must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, cleanliness, and productivity.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to move throughout the production floor.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move materials as required.
  • Ability to wear required PPE.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, production materials, and sanitation processes.
