MissionHires is seeking a detail-oriented Virtual Designer on behalf of a commercial construction company. This role creates and coordinates 3D BIM models, supports clash detection and resolution, produces materials documentation, and helps deliver accurate shop drawings on demanding project schedules. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Revit experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations teams, general contractors, and MEP trade partners.
This is an hybrid position in Dallas or Austin.
How You'll Contribute
- Build accurate 3D models from field superintendent layouts using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
- Perform BIM coordination, including clash detection, issue review, and resolution using Navisworks Manage.
- Upload models and follow general-contractor-led BIM coordination processes through model sign-off.
- Mentor and train Detailers in the production of detailed shop drawings.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with operations teams, general contractors, and MEP trade partners.
- Assist in developing and maintaining company Revit templates, details, and graphic standards.
- Produce bills of materials to support procurement and labor tracking.
- Manage multiple concurrent assignments with accuracy, strong attention to detail, and adherence to aggressive project schedules.
- Learn from and follow direction provided by the Senior Virtual Design team.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- At least 2 years of computer-aided drafting experience in the commercial construction industry.
- High school diploma or GED.
- CAD Associate degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
- Ability to use Navisworks and/or Revizto to review trade clashes and extract information from BIM models.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction blueprints and project specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and ability to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to learn quickly and follow direction from senior virtual design professionals.
- Electrical construction experience is preferred.
- Knowledge and practical application of the National Electrical Code (NEC) is a plus.
- Electrical field experience and/or an Associate degree in Electrical Theory is a plus.
