Injection Molding Technician (Mold Set-Up)

Pay: $21.50 - $25.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

At Piller Aimmco, mold setup is about more than changing tools. Our technicians work with injection molding machines, robotic equipment, and automated systems to get each production run started safely and producing quality parts.

We’re looking for someone with hands-on mechanical ability who wants to learn this trade. If you enjoy figuring out how equipment works, using tools, and solving problems on the production floor, this could be your next step. You do not need a college degree or years of injection molding experience.

What you’ll learn and do

• Help remove and install molds and prepare presses for the next production run.
• Set up water lines, materials, tooling, and related equipment.
• Work alongside experienced technicians as they prepare robots and automation for production.
• Follow setup instructions, check first parts, and help troubleshoot issues during startup.
• Build your skills until you can complete more of the setup process independently.

What you bring

• At least one year of hands-on experience in manufacturing, machine operation, equipment setup, maintenance, or another mechanical role.
• Comfort using hand tools and following written instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a desire to understand how machines work.
• Dependability, a safety-minded approach, and a willingness to learn from the team.

Experience with injection molding, mold changes, robots, or automation is a plus. We’ll train you on our equipment and procedures, including the safe use of forklifts and overhead cranes.
