Job Title: Production Line Monitor - PAY $28/hr

Job Description

The Production Monitor oversees assigned production lines during 12-hour shifts to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient operation. This role monitors equipment performance, records key production metrics, and coordinates with cross-functional teams to resolve issues quickly and maintain high quality standards. The Team Lead supports smooth shift transitions, maintains accurate documentation, and actively contributes to a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor assigned production lines throughout a 12-hour shift to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operation.
  • Record production data, part counts, quality information, downtime events, and other required metrics on an hourly basis.
  • Observe machine performance and identify operational issues, slowdowns, or abnormalities in real time.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions and production concerns promptly to maintenance technicians, supervisors, or other appropriate personnel.
  • Follow up on reported issues to ensure timely resolution and minimal disruption to production.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and production records in accordance with company standards.
  • Perform routine visual inspections of equipment and products to identify potential quality or safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards at all times.
  • Work effectively with production, maintenance, quality, and management teams to support overall operational goals.
  • Assist with shift handoffs by providing clear, detailed updates on production status, equipment conditions, and any ongoing issues.
  • Support and reinforce safe work practices on the production floor.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, safety, and quality.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in production environments with responsibility for monitoring and supporting manufacturing lines.
  • Supervisory or team lead experience with the ability to coordinate activities and support production staff.
  • Strong understanding of production supervision principles, including throughput, downtime, and quality metrics.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to accurately record and track production data, part counts, quality information, and downtime events.
  • Attention to detail when observing machine performance and identifying operational issues or abnormalities.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with maintenance, production, quality, and management personnel.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention throughout long production shifts.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods during 12-hour shifts.
  • Physical ability to bend, reach, and perform light physical tasks as needed.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and practices.
  • Inventory awareness or experience supporting inventory-related activities in a production setting.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills, including coaching and supporting production team members.
  • Comfort working in hot, industrial environments with heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to work rotating day or night shifts and overtime as needed.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that is hot and dirty throughout most of the plant and includes exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. You will work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule. Day shift runs from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. with a 2-on/2-off, 3-on/3-off rotation, and night shift runs from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. with the same rotation. Multiple positions are available on both day and night shifts, and overtime is currently unlimited. The work involves standing and walking for most of the shift, as well as occasional bending, reaching, and light physical tasks while working around industrial equipment in a production environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
