Job Summary

The Caf Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the caf, ensuring a clean, welcoming, compliant, and profitable environment for members and guests. This role provides hands-on leadership to caf staff, supports sales and customer service, manages inventory and ordering, and ensures the caf consistently meets company standards for cleanliness, food safety, and member experience.

The Caf Lead serves as a key point of contact for caf operations and works closely with management to identify opportunities to improve sales, products, processes, and overall member satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position provides supervision to others.

Note: While this role does not directly oversee staff, it is responsible for training and day-to-day operations.

  • Supervise and provide day-to-day direction to caf staff.
  • Train and support new caf employees on company expectations, procedures, customer service, and caf operations.
  • Ensure caf staff follow established food safety, cleanliness, customer service, and operational standards.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to caf staff as needed.
  • Communicate staffing, operational, or performance concerns to management.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the caf to ensure an efficient, organized, and positive member experience.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the caf, including work areas, equipment, counters, storage areas, and customer-facing spaces.
  • Order food, beverages, supplies, and other caf products as needed to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track product usage, and minimize waste, spoilage, and unnecessary expenses.
  • Ensure products are properly stored, labeled, rotated, and handled in accordance with applicable food safety requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety requirements and support the caf in preparing for and successfully completing health inspections.
  • Monitor caf sales and identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve product performance.
  • Recommend and implement new products, menu items, promotions, or other ideas to increase caf sales and enhance the member experience.
  • Provide product samples to members when appropriate and in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Monitor and respond to member feedback related to the caf and work to resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support positive Google reviews and the caf's online reputation by providing excellent customer service and encouraging satisfied members to share their experiences.
  • Ensure the caf is appropriately stocked, presented, and ready for members throughout operating hours.
  • Maintain accurate records related to inventory, ordering, sales, and other caf operations as required.
  • Communicate caf needs, trends, challenges, and opportunities to management.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Food safety or food handler certification, if required by applicable state or local regulations.
  • Previous experience in a caf, restaurant, food service, retail, hospitality, or customer-facing environment preferred.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or training experience preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management, ordering, sales, or customer service preferred.
