Inventory Representative

JSG is seeking a motivated Vendor Managed Inventory Representative to join our team and contribute significantly to optimizing inventory performance, enhancing customer satisfaction, and maintaining operational excellence. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing key customer inventory accounts, developing strategic solutions to improve inventory turnover, and ensuring seamless communication between our organization and clients.

As a VMI Representative, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our valued customers, working closely to understand their unique needs and challenges. Your expertise will help in maintaining accurate and up-to-date inventory levels within our ERP systems, particularly SAP. You'll analyze inventory health data, identify discrepancies, and implement tailored solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This position also demands a keen awareness of compliance standards such as ITAR and AS9100/AS9120, ensuring all inventory activities adhere to strict aerospace industry regulations.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating with internal teams, such as sales, logistics, and quality assurance, to align inventory strategies with overall business objectives. You will regularly review inventory reports, prepare detailed performance metrics, and participate in periodic reviews with customers to evaluate service levels and address any issues proactively. Your ability to foster strong relationships with clients, understand their operational goals, and deliver exceptional customer service will be pivotal in ensuring long-term customer retention and satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of aerospace fastener distribution and supply chain logistics
• Proficiency with ERP systems, especially SAP, and familiarity with customer portals and inventory management tools
• Extensive knowledge of ITAR compliance, as well as industry standards such as AS9100 and AS9120
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating inventory health data and developing effective strategies
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience directly managing vendor-managed inventory programs within the aerospace sector
• Familiarity with supply chain optimization techniques and inventory forecasting models
• Certifications in supply chain management, inventory control, or related fields (such as SCPro, CSCP, or CPIM)
• Practical knowledge of aerospace industry standards, regulations, and best practices

Educational Background and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in aerospace distribution, inventory management, or customer account management is highly desirable
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong customer relationships and successfully managing inventory accounts

• Willingness to travel periodically to customer locations for meetings, audits, and training
• Commitment to maintaining compliance standards, including ITAR and aerospace industry certifications
• Ability to adapt quickly to industry changes and continuously seek process improvements
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tackling operational challenges
