Shift: Day Shift

Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Patient Access Representative / Referral Coordinator to support patients and healthcare providers by coordinating medical appointments and processing patient referrals.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with medical referrals, patient scheduling, insurance verification, and healthcare documentation. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills to ensure referrals and appointments are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments accurately and efficiently.
  • Process incoming and outgoing medical referrals.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage.
  • Review referral documentation to ensure all required information is complete.
  • Confirm that requested services meet applicable medical necessity requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, medical offices, and insurance companies.
  • Follow up on incomplete or missing referral information.
  • Accurately document referrals and appointments in the appropriate healthcare system.
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve scheduling and referral issues.
  • Maintain accurate patient information and records.
  • Protect confidential patient information and follow applicable HIPAA and privacy requirements.
  • Follow established departmental workflows, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous medical referral processing experience is required.
  • Experience working with medical referrals and healthcare documentation.
  • Ability to accurately process, track, and maintain referrals.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a healthcare administrative environment.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
  • No license or certification required.
