Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who can contribute immediately to design projects involving precision mechanical assemblies.
Capable of independently handling design tasks for simple to moderately complex opto-mechanical assemblies and supporting validation activities.
Design and redesign precision mechanical assemblies using Creo
Develop motorized mechanisms involving actuators, rotating assemblies, and positioning systems
Perform hands-on assembly and prototype builds
Conduct testing and validation of design changes
Document results and support transfer to manufacturing
Assist with basic thermal and structural analysis when needed
Focused on design and CAD work; testing, validation, and manufacturing readiness
Design, build, prototype testing the next generation broad band plasma (BBP) Wafer inspection opto-mechanical assemblies.
Collaborated development with core suppliers.
Work with system, optical, electrical and software engineer to derive the subsystem requirements and conduct design reviews.
Precision mechanism development: actuator selection, tolerance analysis, lifetime evaluation, optics mounting, alignment & adjustment design, etc
Qualify and release the mechanism design, provide support for onsite manufacturing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5 to 7+ years of industry experience in mechanical design
Strong Creo CAD experience
Experience with precision mechanism design
Hands-on experience building, testing, and validating mechanical assemblies
Ability to move quickly into active design work with minimal ramp-up time
A motivated engineer with a proven track record of taking ownership, contributing quickly, and working independently from day one.
Strong precision mechanical design experience combined with practical hands-on testing skills will be the key differentiator.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic thermal and structural FEA experience
Familiarity with ANSYS, Creo Simulation, or similar analysis tools
Opto-mechanical experience is helpful but not required
Experience with motorized assemblies, actuators, stages, and precision mechanisms
Flow analysis is a plus (ANSYS experience preferred)
Open to candidates from: Medical devices, Aerospace, Satellite systems, Precision manufacturing, Other industries involving precision mechanical mechanisms
SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar 3D CAD backgrounds may be considered if they have some Creo experience and can become productive quickly
