Structural Engineer - Aquatics & Reinforced Concrete

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our engineering team. This role will focus primarily on the structural design and engineering of commercial swimming pools, aquatic facilities, water-retaining structures, and reinforced concrete systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in structural engineering and reinforced concrete design, with experience in water tanks, swimming pools, aquatics, or other water-retaining structures highly preferred. Experience in geotechnical and civil engineering is also valuable, but the candidate's primary expertise must be in structural engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Develop structural designs for commercial swimming pools, aquatic facilities, water tanks, and reinforced concrete structures.
Perform structural analysis and calculations to evaluate load capacity, stability, and structural performance.
Design reinforced concrete systems, foundations, retaining structures, and other structural components.
Utilize engineering and design software including AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Bluebeam, FEA tools, and Mathcad.
Prepare structural calculations, construction documents, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
Review architectural, civil, and geotechnical information to ensure proper structural integration.
Collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, and construction teams throughout the design and construction process.
Conduct site visits to verify construction quality and ensure designs are implemented correctly.
Address technical challenges and provide practical structural solutions during construction.
Coordinate project schedules and manage multiple design assignments efficiently.
Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Strong professional experience in Structural Engineering.
Extensive experience with reinforced concrete design and analysis.
Experience designing water-retaining structures, water tanks, swimming pools, or aquatic facilities is highly preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
Experience using AutoCAD and structural engineering software.
Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and construction drawings.
Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Experience
Commercial swimming pool or aquatic facility design.
Water tanks or other water-retaining reinforced concrete structures.
Reinforced concrete foundations and structural systems.
Geotechnical engineering principles.
Civil engineering and site development coordination.
Construction oversight and site inspections.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Project management and construction coordination.
Licensure Requirements
Candidates must be professionally registered in Georgia.
Registration in the following states is strongly preferred:
Florida
Tennessee
South Carolina
North Carolina
Alabama
Additional multi-state engineering licenses are a plus.

The ideal candidate is a strong Structural Engineer first and foremost, with deep expertise in reinforced concrete design. Experience in aquatics, commercial swimming pools, water tanks, or water-retaining structures is highly desirable. Additional experience in civil or geotechnical engineering is beneficial but should complement, not replace, strong structural engineering expertise.
