Heavy Equipment Operator

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, safety-minded Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience operating heavy machinery and is comfortable working around scrap metal, vehicles, and industrial materials.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Grapple Crane (heavy equipment)

• Load, unload, move, and sort scrap metal and materials

• Load Ferrous & Non Ferrous Material

• Maintain organized material piles and work areas

• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance

• Report mechanical problems

• Follow all company safety procedures

• Assist with general yard operations when needed

• Maintain a safe work environment

Qualifications

• Previous heavy equipment operating preferred 5 year's experience

• Experience with excavators, loaders, skid steers, or similar equipment

• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Mechanical aptitude is a plus

• Scrap yard, construction, demolition, excavation, or recycling experience is a plus

• CDL is preferred but not required

$40,000 - $60,000 yearly

• Load material onto trucks

• Unload material from trucks and trailers

• An eye for organization

• Ability to run equipment
