As a Staff Account your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Manage accounts receivable activity, including posting payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on discrepancies.
• Maintain grant-related financial records and support accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of restricted funds.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accounting transactions are recorded completely and correctly.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to maintain reliable financial statements.
• Process payroll activities with accuracy and support timely resolution of payroll-related issues.
• Assist with sales tax and corporate tax documentation by organizing financial data and supporting required filings.
• Review daily accounting transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies and standard accounting practices.
• Contribute to month-end closing tasks by compiling supporting schedules and helping finalize account balances.
The Ideal Staff Accountant will meet the following requirements:
• Experience in staff accounting with hands-on responsibility for accounts receivable, general ledger work, and transactional accounting.
• Working knowledge of grant accounting and the ability to maintain accurate supporting documentation.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Background in payroll processing with strong attention to accuracy and deadlines.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and support for corporate tax return preparation.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping best practices.
• Ability to organize multiple priorities, analyze discrepancies, and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders.
