Ollivier Corporation

Los Angeles, CA • $25.00 to $30.00 / hr • 9/11/2026

Job Description

Job Description

Ollivier Managed Security is looking for an Apprentice Security Systems Engineer who is interested in building a career in electronic security and technology.

This is a hands-on, entry-level position designed for someone who wants to learn how enterprise security systems are installed, programmed, configured, tested, and supported. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, Project Managers, and field technicians while developing skills in access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, networking, software, and integrated security systems.

You do not need to know everything coming in. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, technically curious, comfortable working with computers, willing to learn, and committed to doing quality work.

What You’ll Learn & Do

Under the direction of experienced team members, you will:

  • Assist with the programming, configuration, testing, and commissioning of electronic security systems.
  • Learn enterprise access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and integrated security platforms.
  • Assist with configuring security software, workstations, servers, controllers, cameras, and other system components.
  • Learn basic TCP/IP networking and how networked security devices communicate.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and system issues.
  • Read and learn to interpret drawings, scopes of work, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Support engineers and field technicians during system installation, startup, testing, and commissioning.
  • Assist with onsite and remote customer support.
  • Learn to maintain accurate system documentation, programming information, equipment records, and project notes.
  • Complete daily notes and required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Participate in manufacturer and internal technical training.
  • Work toward applicable manufacturer certifications.
  • Follow company procedures, technical standards, and manufacturer-recommended best practices.
  • Communicate questions, problems, delays, or concerns promptly rather than waiting for someone else to discover them.
  • Take on greater technical responsibility as your knowledge and experience grow.

What We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have a genuine interest in technology, computers, networking, electronics, or security systems.
  • Enjoy troubleshooting and figuring out how things work.
  • Are comfortable using computers and learning new software.
  • Are willing to ask questions and learn from more experienced team members.
  • Can follow written and verbal instructions and pay attention to details.
  • Are organized and willing to document your work.
  • Understand the importance of showing up on time, being prepared, and following through on commitments.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Are willing to accept feedback and use it to improve.
  • Can work independently when appropriate while also being a dependable member of the team.
  • Are interested in developing a long-term career in the electronic security industry.

Previous security, low-voltage, IT, networking, electrical, construction, or technical experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate.

Helpful Experience

Any experience or education involving the following is a plus:

Computers • Networking • TCP/IP • Windows • Electronics • Low-Voltage Systems • Access Control • Video Surveillance • Cameras • Security Systems • IT Support • Troubleshooting

Experience with platforms such as AMAG, Lenel/LenelS2, Avigilon, Milestone, Axis, Brivo, or Avigilon Alta/Openpath is a plus, but is not required.
