Project Engineer

NetGain Technologies is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Professional Services team.

This is not a help desk role and it's not a reactive support position. You'll be delivering infrastructure projects for small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprise clients.

If you enjoy implementing technology, following a project plan, solving complex technical challenges, and leaving clients with a better environment than you found, we'd love to talk.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy designing and implementing solutions more than working tickets or handling day-to-day support issues.

• Deliver infrastructure projects from kickoff through completion.
• Implement Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and cloud solutions.
• Partner with Project Managers to execute projects on time and within scope.
• Work directly with clients both remotely and on-site.
• Document completed work and ensure smooth project closeout.
• Identify risks, scope changes, and technical challenges early.

• Windows Server (2016-2022)
• Active Directory & Microsoft Entra ID
• VMware vSphere / ESXi
• Microsoft Hyper-V
• Fortinet FortiGate
• Cisco networking
• Aruba & Meraki
• Microsoft 365
• Azure

• 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and firewalls.
• Experience delivering projects in an MSP, consulting, or project-focused environment.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to clients clearly and professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality documentation.
• Ability to travel to client locations as needed.

• CCNA or CCNP
• ConnectWise experience
• Multi-site deployment experience

Qualifications

· Minimum of 8 years’ hands-on experience in IT with high proficiency in:

o Windows Server, Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), Azure Cloud stack, M365, Networking (Firewalls and Switching) and DR/BC

· Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent certs/experience

· Willingness to travel to client locations

· Ability to lift 25lbs
