Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor/Lead will oversee and participate in daily shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse operations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for ensuring accurate receipt, storage, inventory control, and shipment of materials.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and train shipping and receiving personnel.
- Assign daily work schedules, balance workloads, and monitor team performance.
Receiving & Inventory Operations
- Receive, inspect, and verify inbound materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Process ERP transactions including receipts, transfers, inventory adjustments, and material movements.
- Coordinate material put-away activities and maintain organized warehouse storage locations.
- Support cycle counts and inventory audits, investigate discrepancies, and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Support warehouse organization, storage utilization, and material flow efficiency.
Shipping Operations
- Oversee daily shipping activities to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective deliveries.
Warehouse Coordination & Safety
- Coordinate dock utilization, warehouse activities, and labor resources.
- Partner with Production department to ensure efficient workflow.
- Operate and oversee the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and shipping regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, or material handling.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience required.
- ERP experience required; Epicor preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse software systems.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, and perform physical warehouse duties throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
