Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer III to join an aerospace manufacturing organization in North Hollywood. This is a senior-level, hands-on quality engineering role responsible for driving product and process quality, leading complex investigations, and ensuring compliance with aerospace and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring 8 to 10+ years of aerospace manufacturing quality engineering experience with strong knowledge of AS9100, FAA, Nadcap, MRB, Root Cause/Corrective Action, APQP, PPAP, FAI/AS9102, and process improvement.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead root cause investigations, 8D corrective actions, nonconformances, escapes, and customer quality issues
- Support MRB and disposition of nonconforming material
- Analyze scrap, rework, quality trends, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Develop inspection plans, process controls, and quality documentation
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to improve process capability and reduce variation
- Support APQP, PPAP, FAI, qualification, and production readiness
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and customer quality requirements
- Serve as a key quality interface with customers
- Support AS9100, FAA, Nadcap, internal, and customer audits
- Provide quality leadership and support continuous improvement of the QMS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 8 to 10+ years of Quality Engineering experience within aerospace manufacturing
- Strong experience with MRB, corrective actions, RCA, manufacturing process controls, and audits
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement
- Strong understanding of inspection methods, metrology, engineering drawings, and specifications
- ASQ CQE and/or Six Sigma certification preferred
- Experience with AS9102 FAI, frozen planning, and flight safety requirements preferred
