Working Foreman

Cayman LLC – Huntington, WV / Tri-State Area

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Construction Crew Leader to join our growing team. This position is for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and is capable of stepping up as a leader on the jobsite.

Our work primarily consists of concrete flatwork, retaining walls, excavation, drainage, and related site work throughout the Huntington and surrounding Tri-State area.

The right candidate must be a leader and team player. You should be able to work alongside the crew while helping keep jobs organized, productive, safe, and moving in the right direction.

You will also interact directly with homeowners and customers, so professional communication, a positive attitude, and respect for customers and their property are required.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with and lead day-to-day construction activities
• Concrete forming, pouring, finishing, saw cutting, stripping, and cleanup
• Construct driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, slabs, and other flatwork
• Assist with retaining wall construction, excavation, drainage, and site preparation
• Read a tape measure accurately and understand basic construction measurements
• Use levels, squares, string lines, lasers, and other layout tools
• Perform basic jobsite layout and elevations
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely
• Help maintain equipment, trucks, trailers, and tools
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and customers
• Help direct and motivate other crew members when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
• Protect customers' homes, lawns, driveways, landscaping, and surrounding property
• Follow company procedures and maintain high workmanship standards
• Be willing to perform physical labor when needed leaders work alongside the crew

Requirements:

• General construction knowledge is required
• 3+ years of concrete finishing experience preferred, but not required
• Must know how to read a tape measure and use a level and square
• Must understand basic construction layout
• Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry 80+ lbs
• Must be able to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, and changing weather conditions
• Must be comfortable working long, physically demanding days when projects require it
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be able to pass a drug test
• Must have reliable transportation to work
• Must show up on time and be dependable
• Must be able to take direction and give direction respectfully
• Must communicate well with coworkers, supervisors, and customers
• Must have a positive attitude and work well as part of a team

Preferred Experience:

Experience operating construction equipment is preferred but not required, including:

• Skid steers / compact track loaders
• Mini excavators
• Compact utility loaders
• Plate compactors
• Concrete saws
• Power trowels and other concrete finishing equipment

Experience with retaining walls, drainage, excavation, grading, forming, carpentry, or site work is also a plus.
