Traveling Construction Layout Field Specialist
Responsibilities
- Become an integral part of Intentio’s Field Department as a Field Specialist.
- Work both independently and as part of a team while maintaining a high level of responsibility, professionalism, communication and productivity.
- Perform accurate construction layout using Trimble Total Station equipment.
- Collect field data, perform basic mathematical calculations, and complete quality-control checks with minimal supervision.
- Translate design information into accurate field layouts.
- Provide productive recommendations and feedback based on field conditions and client needs.
- Effectively communicate information between Intentio’s office team, project teams, and clients in the field.
- Perform laser scanning and produce usable scan data.
- Properly operate, maintain, transport, and care for all company-provided equipment.
- Follow all project-specific and construction site safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Complete required drug testing as necessary to comply with individual project/site requirements.
- Travel to construction sites as required, including both short-term and long-term assignments.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working on active construction sites and in varying field conditions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to stay productive without direct supervision.
- Reliable transportation.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Basic understanding of MEP construction.
- Previous experience with construction layout, surveying, laser scanning, or related field technology.
- Experience operating Trimble Total Station or similar layout equipment.
- Experience with 3D scanning equipment or point cloud data.
- OSHA certification or construction safety training.
- Technical education, CAD, construction, or similar background.
