Role Description

This position offers hands-on experience in all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation. The associate will work closely with experienced trial attorneys and play an active role in case strategy, client counseling, and courtroom advocacy. The position offers significant opportunities for courtroom experience, professional development, and increasing responsibility based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day litigation tasks on active defense matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and case evaluations
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and court appearances
• Assist with trial preparation and case strategy
• Communicate with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and team members

**This is an in-office position. We are currently in the Metrocenter Nashville area, but are moving to a brand new, beautiful space in the Cool Springs area of Franklin in December 2026. We will be near great restaurants, shopping, Lifetime Fitness and a great coffee shop across the street!**

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license and good standing with the Tennessee Bar
• 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred, though exceptional recent graduates will be considered
• Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, or employment litigation is a plus
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced litigation environment
