Machine Assembler

Location: Cerritos, CA
Job Type: Full-Time | Mon-Fri, Weekends
Pay rate: $18/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Machine Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Cerritos, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical assembly experience and the ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.

In this role, you will assemble machinery, mechanical components, electrical components, and sub-assemblies while ensuring all equipment meets quality, safety, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble machines, equipment, mechanical components, electrical components, and sub-assemblies using bolts, fasteners, adhesives, and other methods.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, work orders, and engineering specifications.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment, including drills, presses, vises, saws, wrenches, and measuring instruments.
  • Align, fit, install, and adjust machine components to precise specifications.
  • Install components such as control boxes, motors, switches, timers, thermostats, and other mechanical/electrical parts.
  • Perform quality inspections and functional testing of completed assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Work closely with engineers, quality control, testing, and production teams to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records related to assembly processes, materials, testing, and machine performance.
  • Assist with maintaining and repairing tools, equipment, and machinery used during assembly.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of machinery, tools, and required PPE.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support manufacturing and production operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1 year of experience in machine assembly, mechanical assembly, equipment assembly, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and work in various positions.
  • Requires repetitive use of hands and arms, including gripping, holding, pressing, manipulating, and rotating hands and wrists.
  • Comfortable working around industrial machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • May be exposed to elevated noise levels associated with a manufacturing and assembly environment.
  • Must be able to follow all applicable safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
