TOPS Staffing is hiring experienced CNC Machinists for a growing manufacturing operation seeking skilled setup machinists for its afternoon shift team.

Schedule & Compensation
Shift: Afternoon Shift
Hours: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
Schedule: Monday–Thursday
Overtime: Available on Fridays
Pay: Up to $35.00/hour based on experience
Annual Bonus: Potential to earn $8,000+ per year
About the Role
This position is ideal for machinists who enjoy setup work and taking ownership of their machine. Operators are responsible for running a variety of parts throughout the shift, often performing multiple setups and changeovers on assigned CNC mills or lathes.
You'll work independently while supporting production, quality, and efficiency goals in a modern manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills or lathes
- Perform multiple setups and product changeovers throughout the shift
- Load programs and verify machine setup
- Change tooling and adjust offsets as needed
- Establish workholding using fixtures, vises, clamps, and related tooling
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments when necessary
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment
- Read blueprints, job travelers, and production documentation
- Maintain quality standards and production records
- Keep work areas clean and organized
Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers or lathes
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in a high-mix, low-to-mid volume manufacturing environment preferred
