Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Production Manager responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and controlling production activities. The role involves coordinating with various departments to meet customer requirements efficiently and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, manage production schedules, and ensure quality and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, organizing, and controlling of production to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate production schedules in a cost-effective manner.
  • Initiate plans to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of resources.
  • Resolve process and facility problems to ensure maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Develop, review, update, and implement production planning including Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean initiatives.
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward company goals.
  • Manage and motivate the workforce, handling employee relations, training, discipline, and conflict resolution.
  • Comply with standard human resource practices and foster a positive work environment.
  • Investigate customer complaints to determine root causes and implement remedies.
  • Work with team members to maintain ISO program and certification.
  • Staff and train employees according to production needs and evaluate their performance.
  • Lead adherence to safety and housekeeping standards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance program.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably batch manufacturing.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively.

  • Data-based approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong math aptitude to apply Six Sigma methodology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially with spreadsheets, word processing, presentation software, and SAP.

Work Environment

The position involves working a day shift in a salaried role. The work environment is collaborative, with a focus on innovation and global impact. The team consists of diverse experts from over 80 nationalities, working on cutting-edge solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Springfield, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $144000.00 - $160000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
