Job Title: Procurement Manager

Department: Materials

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Basic Function:

This position is responsible for carrying out the company’s goals and objectives for sourcing and vendor development activities. This position will work with domestic and overseas suppliers to negotiate contracts and improve quality and service. This position will work closely with engineering, quality and sales to perform the duties of this position.

Corporate Responsibilities:

Provide input for corporate planning and goals relating to the materials and procurement functions of the company.

·Departmental Responsibilities:

• Lead sourcing and vendor development efforts to support manufacturing operations.
• Work with domestic and international suppliers to negotiate contracts, improve quality, and enhance service levels.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Sales to support projects and business goals.
• Identify new suppliers and materials; manage supplier qualification and selection processes.
• Negotiate competitive pricing and maintain cost-effective supplier relationships.
• Develop supplier contracts and ensure compliance with company policies and requirements.
• Conduct supplier visits as needed (domestic and international travel may be required).
• Resolve supplier-related quality, delivery, and service issues promptly.
• Support quoting efforts for new business and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Develop and maintain procurement procedures and policies.
• Oversee supplier approval and development processes.
  
  Global Responsibilities: Follow all Hansen procedures and guidelines related to safety and general conduct.

Secondary Responsibilities: Help cover planner functions when planners are absent or over capacity.

Assist accounting as needed to resolve billing issues. Perform other duties as needed.

Authorities

Recommend Suppliers, Negotiate and approve pricing for items with annual purchases not to exceed $250,000. Approve purchase orders for up to $50,000.

Associates directly reporting to this position: None. (Subject to change)

Associates indirectly reporting to this position: Junior Buyer

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years purchasing experience; manufacturing experience required.
• Knowledge of purchasing practices and domestic/international purchasing regulations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong sense of urgency with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with mechanical components in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
