Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AML Manager to lead a team supporting financial crime compliance efforts in San Ramon, California. This Long-term Contract position is suited for a detail-oriented individual who can guide analysts, strengthen investigative quality, and help maintain a strong Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering control environment. The ideal candidate brings proven leadership experience, sound judgment in suspicious activity review, and the ability to drive consistent performance across a high-volume monitoring function.

Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach, and oversee a team of 8 to 10 AML analysts, setting clear expectations and promoting strong execution across daily casework.
• Review team output to ensure investigations, alerts, and escalations are handled accurately, thoroughly, and within required timeframes.
• Provide direction on suspicious activity analysis and support the preparation and quality review of Suspicious Activity Reports.
• Partner with compliance and operations stakeholders to maintain effective AML and BSA monitoring practices and resolve workflow issues.
• Use Actimize Suspicious Activity Monitoring to supervise alert management activities and improve case handling consistency.
• Track individual and team performance, deliver feedback, and develop analysts to build a high-performing and accountable unit.
• Support procedural updates, training efforts, and process improvements that strengthen regulatory compliance and investigative quality.
• Escalate significant financial crime concerns, emerging risk patterns, and control gaps to appropriate leadership teams.
• Help manage operational priorities, coverage needs, and reporting metrics to ensure smooth execution of program objectives.• 5 to 10 years of experience leading high-performing teams in AML, BSA, or financial crime compliance environments.
• Strong knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations, Bank Secrecy Act requirements, and suspicious activity review processes.
• Hands-on experience with Actimize Suspicious Activity Monitoring (SAM) or similar transaction monitoring platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee investigations and support the drafting or review of Suspicious Activity Reports.
• Proven people management skills with experience coaching analysts, driving productivity, and maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to make sound risk-based decisions in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
