Billing Specialist

Location: Oak Ridge, TN

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Assignment Length: 6+ months with strong potential for permanent hire

Join a respected behavioral healthcare organization as a Healthcare Billing Specialist. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant medical billing operations while supporting clients, providers, and third-party payors.

Responsibilities:

• Process medical claims and billing activities in a behavioral healthcare environment.
• Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims.
• Work directly with patients and third-party payors to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate reimbursement.
• Manage accounts receivable and perform collection activities to maintain target balance goals.
• Maintain detailed billing records and ensure compliance with payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with the billing and financial services team to support organizational goals.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of medical billing, hospital billing, or claims processing experience.
• Strong data entry, claims submission, and follow-up experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
