Server

Mavens Delicatessen is looking for friendly, reliable, and hardworking servers to join our team. We’re a busy restaurant, so we’re looking for people who can provide great service, stay organized when things get hectic, and work well with the rest of the team.

At Mavens, we really emphasize teamwork. Everyone helps each other, and we want our servers to take pride in the restaurant, the food we serve, and the experience we give our guests.

Part-time and Full-time positions are available

Pay:

Servers are paid the federal tipped minimum wage plus tips.

At Mavens, we also guarantee at least $18/hour in total earnings each week. If you have a slower week and your hourly wage plus tips averages less than $18/hour, Mavens will make up the difference to bring you to $18/hour.

For comparison, Rhode Island’s regular minimum wage is currently $16/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests and provide friendly, attentive service

• Take orders accurately and confidently answer questions about our menu

• Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally

• Check in with guests throughout their meal and make sure they have a great experience

• Communicate with the kitchen, counter, bussers, and management to keep service running smoothly

• Keep tables, server stations, and dining areas clean and organized

• Help other team members when needed, especially during busy shifts

• Complete opening, closing, and side work responsibilities

• Handle guest concerns professionally and involve management when necessary

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous serving or restaurant experience is preferred

• Friendly and comfortable talking with guests

• Reliable and punctual

• Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast paced environment

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Comfortable using a POS system or willing to learn

• Available for a combination of day, evening, and weekend shifts
