The Project Manager oversees civil engineering and land development projects, performing foundational engineering and drafting tasks while coordinating project activities from planning through completion. This role applies established engineering techniques, procedures, and standards to deliver high-quality work, lead project engineers, and contribute to business growth in areas such as water resources, urban planning, and land development.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic engineering and drafting tasks on assigned civil and land development projects using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Apply mathematics and engineering principles and theory to project design, analysis, and problem-solving activities.
  • Prepare, review, and update project plans and drawings in alignment with established graphic standards, techniques, and principles.
  • Use CADD and engineering software to develop, modify, and refine project drawings and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate and manage project activities, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Lead and oversee a team of project engineers, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Apply QA/QC processes to all project work, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Support land development and urban planning projects, including site design, infrastructure layout, and water resources considerations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain a focused and professional work environment while meeting project deadlines.
  • Contribute to business development by helping to bring in new projects and opportunities, while also managing projects assigned by the organization.
  • Conduct quality analysis on project outputs to identify and resolve issues before final delivery.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, decisions, and design changes using office and engineering software.
Essential Skills
  • Demonstrated competence in applying mathematics and engineering principles and theory to project work.
  • Proficiency in the operation of CADD software for engineering and drafting tasks.
  • Ability to use engineering and office software effectively to support project documentation and communication.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic standards, techniques, and principles as they apply to engineering plans and drawings.
  • Understanding of QA/QC processes and the ability to apply these processes to projects to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Experience in project management within civil engineering, land development, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering concepts, including land development, water resources, and urban planning.
  • Ability to lead and oversee project engineers, coordinating their work to meet project objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all project deliverables.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD for drafting and design work.
  • Background in land development projects and related civil engineering disciplines.
  • Familiarity with water resources engineering and the design of water-related infrastructure.
  • Exposure to urban planning concepts and their integration with civil and land development projects.
  • Experience conducting quality analysis on engineering plans and project deliverables.
  • Ability to support business development efforts by identifying opportunities and contributing to client relationships.
  • Interest in internal career growth and taking on larger, more complex projects over time.
Work Environment

This role operates in an in-office or hybrid work arrangement, offering a welcoming yet quiet and focused environment that supports concentration and professional collaboration. The Project Manager leads a small team and is in charge of two project engineers, working standard business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The dress code is business casual, and the workplace provides exposure to large, complex projects with opportunities for internal career growth. This is a Permanent position based out of Valencia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $180000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
