Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's payroll and billing functions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly payroll for company personnel, including timecard review, expense validation, benefit and deduction accuracy, and submission of withholding payments.
- Administer certified payroll, ensuring union rules, deductions, benefits, and reporting are properly applied, and reviewing union-related calculations.
- Review employee time records, labor allocations, and expense reimbursements to ensure compliance with company policies and project requirements.
- Administer appropriate payroll deductions, including garnishments, benefits, child support and 401(k) contributions.
- Maintain confidential employee information and payroll records with utmost discretion.
- Prepare and process customer invoices, including progress billing, time and material billing, and contract billing.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience processing payroll for multiple employees with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with construction accounting principles, including job costing and project billing.
- Understanding of employment law, tax law related to payroll taxes, and labor law compliance requirements.
- Experience with AIA billing.
- Familiarity with Foundation Software.
- Experience handling confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
