Prototype Vehicle Technicians Welding, Assembly & Paint
We are hiring dependable, detail-oriented Prototype Vehicle Technicians to support the build, modification, and finishing of prototype vehicles. Openings are available for Welding Technicians, Vehicle Assembly Technicians, and Paint Technicians.
This is a hands-on opportunity for individuals who take pride in quality work, follow safety procedures, and can adapt as prototype designs and build priorities evolve. Previous experience is preferred; however, entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, accountability, and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Available Positions
1. Welding Technician
The Welding Technician will support fabrication, structural modifications, and prototype vehicle builds by producing high-quality welds in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on prototype vehicle structures, frames, brackets, and components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and weld specifications
- Support fabrication, fit-up, structural repairs, and modifications as vehicle designs evolve
- Inspect completed welds for quality, alignment, penetration, and compliance with standards
- Use measuring tools to verify dimensions, fitment, and structural accuracy
- Collaborate with engineering and vehicle build teams to resolve weld, fit-up, or design issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous MIG and/or TIG welding experience in automotive, manufacturing, fabrication, aerospace, motorsports, or a similar environment
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
- Experience using tape measures, calipers, squares, levels, and other measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe welding practices
- Welding certification is a plus, but not required
2. Vehicle Assembly Technician
The Vehicle Assembly Technician will assemble prototype vehicles and install mechanical, electrical, and interior components while supporting fitment, rework, and continuous design changes throughout the build process.
Responsibilities
- Assemble prototype vehicles according to engineering specifications, work instructions, and build schedules
- Install mechanical, electrical, trim, interior, chassis, and vehicle components
- Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and basic measurement equipment safely and effectively
- Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate fitment, component, and installation issues
- Perform rework, adjustments, and modifications as prototype designs change
- Maintain workmanship, build quality, and organization while meeting daily production targets
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams during vehicle builds
- Follow all safety, quality, and process requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive, manufacturing, fabrication, or prototype work
- Previous experience in vehicle assembly, production assembly, maintenance, repair, or mechanical work preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, fasteners, torque procedures, and basic measurement tools
- Ability to follow basic work instructions, diagrams, bill of materials, or assembly drawings
- Entry-level candidates with strong attendance, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
3. Paint Technician
The Paint Technician will prepare, paint, refinish, and inspect prototype vehicle surfaces to ensure a high-quality appearance while following established safety and environmental requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for paint through sanding, masking, cleaning, taping, and other surface-preparation methods
- Apply primer, basecoat, clearcoat, and other coatings using approved paint systems and spray equipment
- Perform touch-ups, refinishing, blending, and appearance corrections as needed
- Inspect finished surfaces for defects, color consistency, coverage, and overall finish quality
- Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Follow all safety, environmental, and hazardous-material handling procedures
- Support changing prototype build requirements and schedule priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous automotive paint, collision repair, industrial coating, or vehicle refinishing experience preferred
- Knowledge of paint-preparation processes, paint systems, masking techniques, and spray equipment
- Experience applying primer, basecoat, and clearcoat finishes
- Strong attention to detail, color consistency, and finish quality
- Ability to follow safety procedures related to respirators, PPE, chemicals, and paint materials
Basic Qualifications for All Roles
- Reliable attendance and dependable transportation
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and move in and around vehicles for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle vehicle components and tools as required for the role
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing prototype or manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work overtime, including short-notice overtime, when production needs require it
