Position Summary
The Driver/Crew Member is responsible for safely transporting, delivering, and installing party rental equipment while providing excellent customer service. This role combines driving responsibilities with hands-on event setup and breakdown, working as part of a team in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Transportation
- Safely operate company trucks (including box trucks) to deliver and pick up rental equipment
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and all transportation laws
- Ensure loads are properly secured and organized for transport
Set Up & Teardown
- Install and dismantle tents, tables, chairs, and other rental equipment at event sites
- Ensure all setups meet company standards for safety and appearance
- Work efficiently with crew members to complete jobs on time
Warehouse Operations
- Load and unload trucks accurately and safely
- Clean, inspect, and organize equipment upon return
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment
Customer Service
- Serve as a professional, on-site representative of J&J Tent and Party Rentals
- Communicate clearly with clients and address questions or concerns
- Ensure customer satisfaction during delivery and setup
Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience driving box trucks or similar vehicles preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ lbs regularly
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
- Familiarity with tools (e.g., drills, stake drivers) is a plus
Work Environment & Schedule
- Physically demanding, outdoor work environment
- Flexible schedule required, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Typically works as part of a 2–3 person crew
