Electrical Controls Engineer

Our client, a well-established manufacturer, is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, and troubleshoot electrical control systems for custom machinery and automated equipment.

This is a hands-on Electrical Controls Engineer opportunity supporting projects from initial concept and electrical design through PLC/HMI programming, testing, startup, and commissioning.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
  • Experience designing electrical control systems for machinery or automated equipment
  • Hands-on PLC and HMI programming experience
  • Experience creating and interpreting electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, machine controls, and wiring methods
  • Experience with control panel design and component selection
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD/design software
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and priorities
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

What You'll Do

  • Design electrical control systems for custom machinery and industrial automation projects
  • Create electrical schematics, control panel layouts, bills of materials, and engineering documentation
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, CNC systems, and related machine controls
  • Review customer requirements and develop practical controls solutions
  • Participate in concept, design, and final project reviews
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and project teams throughout equipment development
  • Support equipment testing, system validation, startup, and commissioning
  • Troubleshoot electrical and controls-related equipment issues
  • Maintain accurate engineering and project documentation
  • Improve controls designs and engineering processes
  • Provide occasional customer-site and equipment startup support as needed
