Our client is a growing B2B organization looking for an Account Manager to support and expand an established customer base. This is an opportunity for a relationship-focused sales professional who enjoys managing a portfolio of accounts, identifying new opportunities within existing relationships, and working toward measurable revenue goals.

Job Description:

The Account Manager will manage a designated group of customers and serve as a primary point of contact for their ongoing business needs. This position combines relationship management, proactive sales outreach, cross-selling, customer support, and CRM activity. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a high volume of customers and is motivated by building relationships and growing existing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts and take ownership of overall account activity and growth.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through regular phone and email outreach.
  • Maintain a consistent contact strategy based on customer needs, account potential, and sales opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce customers to additional products and services that align with their business needs.
  • Work to increase customer spend and expand existing relationships through consultative selling.
  • Maintain frequent customer conversations and proactively follow up on open opportunities, quotes, orders, and account needs.
  • Collaborate with outside sales representatives and internal teams to strengthen customer relationships and uncover additional opportunities.
  • Record calls, customer interactions, opportunities, and follow-up activities accurately within the CRM.
  • Review account information and CRM activity to determine outreach priorities and identify areas for growth.
  • Respond to customer questions and resolve issues by coordinating with customer service, operations, finance, and sales teams.
  • Assist with pricing, quotes, order updates, and other account-related requests as needed.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, contacts, notes, and opportunity information.
  • Meet established activity and performance expectations while managing multiple accounts and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and 2–3 years of B2B sales, inside sales, account management, or customer-facing experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple customer accounts or a high-volume book of business.
  • Strong phone and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable making frequent outbound calls and maintaining regular customer contact.
  • Previous experience working in a CRM system.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities and confidently discuss additional products or services with customers.
  • Comfortable balancing relationship management, sales activity, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in distribution, packaging, manufacturing, industrial products, or a related B2B environment.
  • Background supporting multiple product categories or business lines.
  • Experience with account expansion, upselling, or cross-selling.
  • Experience working with both inside and outside sales teams.

Additional Details:

  • This is a full-time, on-site position in Franklin, TN.
  • Conversion is expected at 3 months, at the latest.
  • Once converted, candidates are able to earn monthly bonuses.
  • Success in this position will be measured through activity metrics.
  • Candidates should be comfortable spending a significant portion of the day communicating with customers by phone and email.
