Job Title: Production AssociateJob Description

The Production Associate safely manufactures metal E-Rings by operating a variety of production equipment, following documented procedures, and using standard measuring devices and gauges. This role involves reading and interpreting work instructions, performing assembly and inspection tasks, and communicating effectively with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture metal E-Rings in accordance with established documentation, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Safely operate production equipment including Planish Press, Belt Sander, Roll Form Machines, polishing equipment, and hydraulic presses to produce completed parts.
  • Use standard measuring devices and gauges to verify part dimensions and ensure product quality.
  • Read, interpret, and follow detailed work instructions and production documentation.
  • Perform assembly tasks related to metal E-Ring production, ensuring parts are correctly assembled and meet specifications.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of parts to identify defects and confirm compliance with quality requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with coworkers and manufacturing support staff regarding work order status, issues, and completion of tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with other production associates, manufacturing leads, and support personnel to meet production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating machinery and handling materials.
  • Use computer systems as needed to access work instructions, record production data, and update work order information.
  • Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance and follow written and verbal directions from leadership.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment such as Planish Press, Belt Sander, Roll Form Machines, polishing equipment, and hydraulic presses.
  • Experience or aptitude as a machine operator with strong mechanical inclination.
  • Ability to perform assembly and inspection tasks with attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic production documentation.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate systems and enter production-related information.
  • Ability to read and write English to understand instructions and communicate with the team.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and production calculations.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as part of regular job duties.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate professionally with others.
  • Close vision capability to inspect parts and read detailed instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in operating machinery.
  • Ability to use a computer for work instructions, data entry, and communication.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and processes through on-the-job training.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts as needed, including potential overtime.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal directions accurately.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility focused on producing metal E-Rings, working closely with other production associates, manufacturing leads, and manufacturing support personnel. The position involves frequent standing and walking, using hands to operate machines, measuring devices, and a computer. Specific vision requirements include close vision for detailed inspection and reading instructions. Regular, reliable attendance and professional, cooperative interaction with colleagues and the public are expected. The facility is described as clean, and work is performed on multiple shifts: 1st shift runs 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime; 2nd shift runs 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday; 3rd shift runs 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Haven, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
