Job Title: Production Operator

Job Description

As a Production Operator, you will work on the production floor, standing for more than 9 hours a day. You will begin as a machine assistant, collecting cardboard at the end of a fast-paced machine, which can produce up to 400 boxes per minute. Your responsibilities include inspecting boxes using a tape measure, assisting in different areas, and maintaining a fast pace with constant movement and lifting. During slower periods, you are expected to remain proactive by engaging in tasks such as sweeping. Additionally, you will work in the baler room, collecting excess materials from each station and processing them accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Assist machines by collecting and inspecting cardboard boxes.
  • Maintain a fast-paced workflow, handling up to 400 boxes per minute.
  • Ensure quality control by measuring boxes to the 1/8 of an inch.
  • Work in various areas and help with different tasks as needed.
  • Stay proactive during slow periods by finding tasks such as sweeping.
  • Collect and process excess materials in the baler room.

Essential Skills

  • 2 years of experience in production or machine operation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure to the 1/8 of an inch.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience running gluer machines is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is for the 2nd shift, from 2pm to 10pm. The facility is not climate-controlled but remains relatively clean and comfortable during winter, while it can get warm in summer due to the machines. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Caledonia, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
