Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Manufacturing Process Engineer job in Blue Ash, OH. This FULL-TIME hire job is available with one of our key customers in the security, access control, and manufacturing industries. In this role, you will be responsible for the tactical and strategic management of engineering activities related to an assigned production team, with a focus on safety, product quality, productivity, process stability, and on-time delivery. To be successful in this position, you must have a BS or MS in Engineering or a related field and five or more years of relevant experience, along with experience in a machine shop environment and demonstrated knowledge of mechanical manufacturing. Preference will be given to someone with sheet metal manufacturing experience and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, and formal problem-solving techniques. Manufacturing Process Engineer Job responsibilities:

  • Partner with all other functions to create a successful work environment focused on collaboration, process creation, and process adherence, while helping coach and support the needs of a safe work environment.
  • Provide engineering support to assigned production cells, including the ability to analyze processes and equipment, perform root cause analysis, and drive equipment reliability and process stability. Use formal problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve complex manufacturing problems.
  • Help define, specify, and communicate expectations for quality outcomes through the creation and maintenance of standard work, quality specifications, work instructions, routings, setup sheets, and other process documentation. Analyze proposed changes for manufacturing impact and feasibility.
  • Ensure engineering solutions meet requirements for safety, cost, time, and quality. Assess risks and issues, make decisions with a sense of urgency, and manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
  • Prepare capital project requests and manage implementation. Research, evaluate, justify, and recommend capital equipment for operations, and assist Purchasing and Quality Assurance with qualifying new vendors as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes through the use of formal problem-solving methods while supporting opportunities for yourself and team members to learn and grow.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Engineering or a related field with five or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a machine shop environment with demonstrated knowledge of mechanical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge and basic skills in Lean Manufacturing and Project Management, with the ability to apply structured problem-solving methods to manufacturing issues.
  • Experience with sheet metal manufacturing is a plus, including processes such as shearing, notching, rolling, forming, and welding.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously, assess risks and issues, make sound decisions, and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with other functions, support production teams, and help develop a safe, productive, and continuously improving work environment.
