Job Title: Lead Superintendent
Location: Eastern MA / Boston
Pay Range: 140K – 220K
Job Description:
Our client, a leading construction management firm, is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee the field execution of large-scale construction projects throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
The Lead Superintendent will have overall responsibility for day-to-day site operations, including safety, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, quality control, logistics, inspections, and project delivery. This individual will lead field teams and work closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, subcontractors, owners, architects, and engineers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project completion and turnover.
- Manage project safety and ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and site-specific requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, including three-week look-ahead and trade-specific schedules.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, manpower, equipment, and site logistics.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, staffing, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Lead project QA/QC efforts, including preconstruction meetings, mockups, inspections, punch lists, and final acceptance.
- Review drawings, specifications, subcontracts, scopes of work, shop drawings, and other project documentation.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, photographs, permits, testing, and inspection records.
- Identify field conflicts, scope gaps, schedule risks, and potential cost impacts and communicate them to project leadership.
- Participate in OAC and project team meetings and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate project phasing, turnover planning, procurement, BIM activities, and site logistics.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel
Required Qualifications:
- Significant experience leading commercial construction projects as a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects from site mobilization through closeout.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor management, safety, and QA/QC.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and maintaining project schedules in fast-paced construction environments.
- Working knowledge of construction management technology and field documentation systems.
- Massachusetts construction experience strongly preferred.
