An exciting contract opportunity awaits an experienced occupational therapist with a strong background in school-based settings. Work full-time (typically 37.5–40 hours/week) year-round, serving students on the western side of Wake County. The position operates under a workload model, providing opportunities for ongoing collaboration, professional growth, and meaningful impact on student development.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid OT license issued by the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
- Post-graduate OT degree (Master’s degree preferred)
- Must have previous school-based occupational therapy experience; prior NC school experience ideal
- Experience with ECATS and IEPs required
- Skilled in delivering therapy and documenting services within a school environment
- Strong knowledge of commonly used standardized assessments in school-based OT
- Proficient in the Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
- Ability to effectively apply and interpret assessment results in a school-based context
- Familiarity with workload models preferred
- NPI number and NC Tracks registration required prior to start
- DCDEE fingerprinting and district background check will be completed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct motor screenings and OT evaluations to assess students’ functional skills in relation to educational needs and state standards
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and support IEPs
- Document therapy services and progress in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Deliver direct interventions and consultative services in both elementary and secondary school environments
- Adapt interventions and recommendations to fit diverse student populations and needs
- Actively participate in monthly workload reassessment meetings
