Job Title: Part-Time Weekend Chef

Reports To: Program Manager / Head Chef

Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays (approximately 12-18 hours per week, based on facility needs)

Position Summary
The Part-Time Weekend Chef is responsible for overseeing culinary operations and meal preparation during weekend shifts. This position prepares nutritious, high-quality meals for clients while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service. The Weekend Chef ensures continuity of kitchen operations and supports a positive dining experience for clients with diverse dietary needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for clients during weekend shifts.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served in a timely manner.
- Accommodate special dietary requirements, including allergies, vegetarian, vegan, and other prescribed meal plans.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, and storage spaces.
- Follow local, state, and federal health and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate purchasing needs to the Head Chef or management team.
- Assist with food ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food products.
- Maintain organization of kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, Joint Commission requirements, HIPAA, and 42 CFR regulations.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and team members.
- Support special events or culinary requests as needed.
- Perform other duties and projects assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Formal culinary training or equivalent professional cooking experience.
- Previous experience working as a Chef, Cook, or related culinary role.
- Current ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Current TB test.
- CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong understanding of dietary restrictions and specialized meal preparation.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, or hospitality settings.
- Experience preparing meals for groups and managing food costs and inventory.

Work Environment
The position operates within a behavioral health and substance abuse treatment environment. The employee must maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements. Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
