CNC Machinist

At WALCO Tool & Engineering, our machinists play an important role in producing high-precision parts for our customers. We're looking for an experienced CNC Horizontal Machinist who takes ownership of their work, understands the importance of quality, and knows how to keep production moving in a clean, organized, climate-controlled shop.Your Responsibilities as a CNC Machinist:Set up and operate CNC horizontal machining centersComplete a variety of machining operations, including contour milling, drilling, boring and tappingInterpret engineering blueprints and job specificationsMake necessary offsets and adjustments to maintain required dimensions and tolerancesUse precision measuring equipment to verify completed workPerform in-process and final inspections of your own partsMay complete multiple setups throughout the dayMaintain an efficient workflow and keep equipment operating productivelyWhat You Bring as a CNC Machinist:7+ years of CNC horizontal machining experience – setup and operationAbility to perform multiple set-ups dailyStrong blueprint reading skillsSolid understanding of G & M codesExperience working with various materials such as steel, aluminum, cast iron and alloysHigh attention to detail and pride in your workAbility to physically lift/push/pull objects up to 40 lbs.Standard measuring tools requiredWhy WALCO?Competitive hourly pay with opportunities for overtimeFull benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life Insurance, STD, LTDPaid Time Off and Paid HolidaysTuition AssistanceStable, team-oriented environment built on integrity and craftsmanshipClimate-controlled facilityCompensation and schedule:$25-30 per hour, based on experienceFirst shift: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.We are open 24/7 with flexible scheduling options for second shiftSecond shift employees receive a 10% shift differential on top of base paySecond shift employees have the option to choose between five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, depending on availability
