POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Controller is a key member of the accounting leadership team and is responsible for supporting the integrity of the Company’s financial reporting and accounting operations. This role will lead the monthly close process, oversee day-to-day accounting activities, manage audit and compliance requirements, and supervise accounting staff. The Assistant Controller will partner closely with the Controller and cross-functional leaders to drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and assist in enhancing the efficiency and scalability of the finance function.

In addition to technical accounting expertise, this position requires strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, coaching, and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and building effective relationships across the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to motivate others, influence positive change, and support the professional growth of the accounting team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Lead the monthly and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

•Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses, ensuring compliance with accounting guidance and best practice.

•Coordinate the annual external audit and manage audit requests, schedules, and supporting documentation.

•Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

•Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

•Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

•Support system implementations and automation initiatives across the accounting organization.

•Partner with business leaders and FP&A to support operational decision-making through financial insights and analysis.

•Support the Controller with ad hoc requests or special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

•Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.

•2+ years of supervisory or people management experience.

•Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.

•Experience leading or participating in month-end close processes.

•High proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables etc.).

•Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

•Demonstrated experience improving processes, controls, and operational efficiency.

•CPA designation, preferred.

•Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software.

•Knowledge of multi-currency transactions.

•Experience managing and developing accounting professionals.

•Experience participating in system implementations, integrations, or automation initiatives.
